Developing a Sustainable Mentoring Network in Geography and the Social Studies

We would like to invite you to join a dynamic long-term professional development program focused on developing strong mentors in the Social Studies. This program is open to pairs of K-12 educators who are able to commit to the following:
  • 4-day content and impact institute (June 2018) focused on content and pedagogical strategies and knowledge.
  • 4 of 6 workshops on the following dates:
    • October 28 (MANDATORY)
    • November (online)
    • December 2
    • January 20
    • February 17
    • March (online)
    • April 7
  • Monthly online or conference call check in with assigned program staff (Time TBD)
  • 3 observations throughout the 2017-2018 school year between mentor and mentee
  • 2 Day assessment and planning workshop (August 2018)
  • Participant travel will be covered throughout the program as well as a stipend or the opportunity to earn credit towards initial or additional certification. Any substitute costs for out-of-class time will be reimbursed as well.
