Greetings MI Open Book ListServ,
We’ve had reports that everything works perfectly on Chrome Books from some of you. We’ve had reports from others that long load times and file sharing issues are plaguing your machines.
With the help of a few schools we spent a good chunk of the week testing some different things out. We are happy to report that a solution that requires no changes on your technology department’s side of things has been a winner.
Basically – some Chrome users experienced problems sharing books, and others reported that loading them in Kami took ages. Both issues came from the same issue – the size of the downloads (even the chapter by chapter versions)
We were able to make the files significantly smaller, and the updated chapter by chapters are now live on the website.
So – if you’ve been having problems with sharing, opening, etc. and you’re using a Chrome Device, grab one more copy from the website and try again. And a huge thanks to Paul Mancine with Alpena Public Schools and the teachers there for helping us test the solution!
As always, if you run into any problems or have questions, don’t hesitate to contact me directly!
