The Environment and The Economy is a 4 – day residential program for teachers designed to help integrate an understanding of environmental issues into classroom discussion.
Focus of the program is to present an understanding of how market forces may be used to solve environmental issues. The program is structured as a business conference and incorporates a blend of learning activities including hands-on classroom activities, lectures, simulations and a one-day field trip. The field trip will include time aboard the D.J. Angus, a Grand Valley State University water quality research vessel. All materials and activities have been developed specifically for this program.
Total cost of the program is $100, which will include 3 nights hotel, some meals, networking, and at least 18 hours of professional development.
Applicants are taken on a first come basis, so you are encouraged to forward your completed materials and registration check as soon as possible. Each Institute usually fills completely, so the earlier you get your materials in, the better chance you have of being accepted.
