If you are anxious to know the latest on Michigan Department of Education (MDE) approval of the revised Social Studies Standards, you are in good company; however, there is really nothing to be anxious about.

Prior to the State Board of Education Meeting this month Superintendent Brian Whiston recommended withholding approval until Spring of 2016. This additional time will allow MDE to respond to feedback from the several public comments sessions and from the state legislators.
